How to Get From Narita or Haneda Airport to Tokyo (Cheapest and Fastest)
How I choose between speed and price from both airports, plus late-night backups.
Narita (NRT)
- Fastest: Narita Express to Tokyo/Shinjuku (¥3,000, ~60 min)
- Cheapest: Keisei Access Express to Asakusa/Ueno (¥1,200-1,400)
- Night: Airport Limousine Bus (late departures), taxis are expensive
Haneda (HND)
- Fastest/Cheapest: Keikyu Line to Shinagawa (¥300-500) then JR/Metro
- Limousine Bus: Useful with luggage, direct to many hotels
- Night: Taxis pricey; check hotel shuttles
Tips
- Grab an IC card at arrival; load ¥3,000-5,000
- If you have JR Pass start date later, buy single tickets now
- Avoid Narita taxis unless urgent (¥20,000+)
- Check last train times if landing late
